When comedian, musician and ventriloquist Todd Oliver takes the stage you’ll meet his funny companions, Irving and Lucy. No, these are not your typical dummies, they are his personal pet dogs who function as dummies. These little dogs are making crowds across the country howl for more. When they get behind the microphone they turn everyday K-9 experiences into knockout comedy. After over 35 years as a ventriloquist, Todd’s proven formula for success is a combination of audience participation, personalizing his show for special events and educating the audience. Todd Oliver’s humor is situational and contemporary, resulting in a clean universal comedy that makes you feel good. A number one priority for Todd, who owns seven dogs, five horses and two cats, is the safety of his animals. All of his interactions with Lucy and Irving have been overseen by a vet. With his dog and comedy he has created a way to be effective in getting important messages about pet responsibility across to the audience. In this vein he also makes appearances at schools with his 45 minute show, “Todd Oliver and the Positively Positive Day.” Using comedy and ventriloquism he imparts timely messages such as using time wisely, turning talents into lifelong skills, respecting others and yourself, keeping a positive attitude and a sense of humor along with making good choices that keep you healthy and safe.
Todd will complete the week performing a public show at the Paradox Theatre.
Todd and his dogs have appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Today Show and NBC’s America’s Got Talent where they were semi-finalists.
